THE LITTLE OFFICE OF SAINT JOHN THE DIVINE
When all are assembled, seven candles are lighted before the Icons and the Leader shall begin; (Rev. 1:12-13)
V: In the Name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Grace be unto you, and peace, from Him Which is, and Which was, and Which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne; and from Jesus Christ, Who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. (Rev. 1:4-6)
R: Amen.
V: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
R: Amen.
V: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
R: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power:
V: For Thou hast created all things,
R: For Thy pleasure they are and were created.
V: Thou art worthy: For Thou was slain, and have redeemed us to God by Thy Blood
R: Out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And have made us unto our God, kings and priests: And we shall reign on the earth.
V: Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
All: Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power,
Be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne,
And unto the Lamb for ever and ever!
V: Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
All: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom,
And thanksgiving, and honour,
And power, and might,
Be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
Then shall incense be lighted saying;
V: And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. (Rev. 8:4)
R: We give Thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, Which are, and was, and are to come; because Thou hast taken to Thee Thy great power, and hast reigned.
PSALM.134,
Ecce quam bonum.
Behold now, praise the Lord: All ye servants of the Lord;
Ye that by night stand in the House of the Lord: Even in the courts of the House of our God.
Lift up your hands in the sanctuary: And praise the Lord.
The Lord that hath made Heaven and earth: Give thee blessing out of Sion.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: And to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: World without end. Amen.
V: Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: Great and marvellous are Thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are Thy ways, Thou King of saints. Who shall not fear Thee, O Lord, and glorify Thy name? For Thou only art holy: For all nations shall come and worship before Thee; for Thy judgments are made manifest. (Rev. 12:10/15 :3-4)
All: Thou art righteous, O Lord, Which are, and was, and shalt be, because Thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets. Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Thy judgments.

For true and righteous are His judgments:
Alleluia

And ye that fear him, both small and great.
Alleluia: for the Lord God Almighty reigneth.
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: Alleluia
THE SECOND LESSON – Matthew 22:2-13
V: Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. (Rev. 19:9)
Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: For the former things are passed away. Behold, I make all things new. It is done! I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is a-thirst, of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burn-eth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Rev.21:3-8)
V: Cleanse your hands ye sinners, and purify your hearts ye double-minded. (James 4:8)
R: Lord have mercy upon us and forgive us our sins.

R: Even so, Come, Lord Jesus. (Rev. 22:20)
V: Jesus says, Surely I come quickly! (Rev. 22:20)
R: Even so, Come Lord Jesus. (Rev. 22:20)
All: Almighty God, Who hast given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplications unto Thee and dost promise that when two or three are gathered together in Thy Name, Thou wilt grant their requests: Fulfil now, O Lord the desires and petitions of Thy servants, as may be most expedient for them; granting us in this world, knowledge of Thy truth, and in the world to come, life everlasting. (The prayer of St. John Chrysostom)
R: Amen.
V: Let us pray Prayer is offered and a silence kept, after which;
All: Lord, now lettest Thou Thy servant depart in peace: According to Thy word. For mine eyes have seen: Thy Salvation, Which Thou hast prepared: Before the face of all people; To be a light to lighten the Gentiles: And to be the glory of Thy people Israel. Glory be to the Father and to the Son: And to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: World without end. Amen. (Nunc Dimittis – Luke 2:29-32)
